Historic Yale

Yale, founded in 1848 by the Hudson Bay Company, became an important community during the gold rush.  Yale, nestled amongst tall, almost vertical mountains sits on a bend of the Fraser River. This is an awesome place!

Upon entering Yale from the south, you first come to the ‘Historic Yale Cemetery’. Visiting Yale, a stop at this final resting place is a must. The peaceful sloped hill facing the Fraser River is host to a number of Pioneers and their children.

Walking through the small cemetery and observing the enscriptions on the headstones makes a person wonder what life was really like back then.
